「動物試驗」是生技醫藥產品開發鏈上的重要環節，但部分研究機構只顧實驗、不顧動物。國家實驗研究院今天(2日)宣布成立「國研院動物設施國際認證輔導團隊」，期望快速提升國內實驗動物與動物試驗品質，為台灣生醫產品奠定進軍國際市場的基石。

國研院指出，國內在進行動物試驗時面臨機構內部管理機制薄弱、獸醫不足、設施維護管理不當等情形，因此，國研院自2006年至2016年間，默默導入實驗動物管理黃金標準－AAALAC國際認證規範，將全球動物設施認證品質標準及經驗帶回台灣。

國研院也在2日宣布「國研院動物設施國際認證輔導團隊」正式成軍，期望透過動物設施認證輔導，提升國內實驗動物與動物試驗品質，為台灣生醫產品奠定進軍國際市場的基石。

國研院動物中心研究員張維正指出，團隊先從自家動物設施開始練功，2007年國研院動物中心台北中心就第一個獲得AAALAC國際認證，尤其是提供嚙齒類繁殖育種的國家實驗室。他說：『(原音)凡是從國家實驗室買的嚙齒類作為科學應用的部分，有點像有國家的保證一樣，你今天在做國際科學期刊文章發表的時候，說我動物取得是由AAALAC認證的機構取得，就不會受到國際期刊質疑。』

國研院也指出，目前國研院動物中心南部設施、國防醫學大學實驗動物中心、屏東科技大學實驗動物中心、農委會台東種畜繁殖場以及豬博士動物科技有限公司等，加上國研院動物中心台北中心等七個機構都獲得AAALAC國際認證。國研院也期盼將此認證推廣到全台灣，確保實驗動物福祉。
